Pangkalpinang - After a day of training, the state civil apparatus (ASN) participated in tourism marketing training led by the Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung experienced field study.

They visited Km 0 Monument Pangkalpinang and its surroundings on Tuesday (11/10/2022) to apply the theory they had on smartphone photographs and videos.

Haryadi Darmawan or known as Iwan, the trainer and coordinator of digital marketing training in 17 provinces assigned by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy said that this kind of training might be a bit different. Skill is everything in marketing, especially in digital marketing, because theory can easily be found in other digital media.

He said further that ASN must have skills in destination marketing because they could encourage public to do the same in their areas.

“ASN is expected to build, communicate, and market destinations in digital media especially ASN in Tourism office. So, they can share their skills with public. In this way, marketing is not only government’s responsibility but it will be collective responsibility of public and destination operators,” explained Iwan.

Fransiskus Arianto, ASN from East Belitung’s tourism office, said that he thanked God for this training because it supported his job in marketing division.

“It really helps us as ASN of tourism office to develop digital promotion and marketing. It’s a trend in Indonesian tourism,” he said.

Aldi Octavian, sub-coordinator for tourism and economy creative resource while accompanying the trainers in the field study said that the trainees were expected to understand the concept of digital marketing and the essence of current tourism destination marketing.

He also hoped that they could implement the techniques in communicating tourism products to visitors.
