Pangkalpinang –10 youths from Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) Province were selected to participate in the International Youth Exchange Programme (PPAN) 2025 after a tough competition.  They will participate in two different programmes: the ship for Southeast Asia and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) and Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Programme (AIYEP).

The programme aims to upgrade the knowledge and competency of the Indonesian youth and strengthen relationships by interchanging cultures and experiences among countries. The youths will have opportunities to interact with other international youths, develop themselves and upgrade their leadership ability. They will also be able to have an international network.

“This is a precious chance to develop and increase their knowledge by interacting with the international community,” said Pairus, the head of the Youth Division of the provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office of Babel (21/05/2025).

They are expected to promote Babel’s culture and tradition. The provincial government will keep supporting the programmes that increase the competency of its youths.

Pairus said that he would only be able to encourage them to perform their best.

“I also hope that they’ll contribute in increasing Babel’s Youth Development Index (IPP) which keeps improving,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the alumni of PPAN who had supported the programme to create agents of change.

“Thanks to the alumni for actively supporting the programme. We must encourage the youth development together,” he added. (khalimo/sas)
