Belitung – The private resort Leboong Island and its surrounding panorama are good choices for those who want to enjoy island trips, including for the acting chairwoman of Babel Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Sri Utami.
Besides enjoyed the island, Sri Utami also discussed the strategy to promote tourism in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) province with stakeholders on Wednesday, 22/2/2023.
Discussing with the head of the tourism, youth, and sports office of Bangka Selatan regency Firmansyah and the head of the technical implementing unit of Belitung tourism development Apri Yuliansah, she talked about the connectivity of both Bangka and Belitung through Bangka Selatan as a potential entry point and the acceleration of H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin international airport as foreign tourists’ entry point.
“The airport will encourage the foreign tourist to visit Belitung. It’ll be easier and cheaper. As result, it’ll not only affect the tourism sectors but also other sectors,” said Sri.
Teli Ghozalie, the owner of the resort, enthusiastically welcomed the discussion and suggestions. He wanted the one-stop resort Leeboong to be an example for other attractions in Belitung.
He also hoped to keep contributing toward Belitung by developing Leboong attraction.
“Leboong is not only about itself. It’s about the surrounding people. How it can contribute to give positive effect to fishermen and other local people related to it,” he explained.
Teli, who had dealt with regional tourism for quite a long time, suggested an intensive promotion of Leboong. Viral tourist destinations would attract new tourists. It would encourage many sectors, including micro, small and medium enterprises as the focus of PKK. (Kris/SAS/ZE)
