Pangkalpinang - Two candidates for the National Paskibraka (the flag-hoisting team) from Bangka Belitung, namely Abi Fadilla Ramadhan- student of SMA 1 Manggar, East Belitung, and Chikar Novrya Putri Caesaria- student of SMA 1 Toboali, South Bangka will depart to Jakarta for education and training.
Prior to the departure, they were scheduled to have an audience with the acting Governor of Bangka Belitung. Due to Governor’s absence, they met the acting Head of Provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office instead. Accompanied by the Head of Youth and Scouting Division, Pairus and the chair of Bangka Belitung Post Pakibraka, Ferdian Hermawan Lubis, Herwanita welcomed Abi and Chikar in her office on Thursday (14/07/2022).
“Hopefully we can arrange an audience with the governor again after you accomplish the task and come back here,” said Herwanita.
On that occasion, Herwanita said it was an honour being the national flag-hoisting member regardless their position in the team.
“It is an honour to be a member of national flag-hoisting. It is much better if you get under-spotlight position. However, any position is okay too,” said Herwanita.
As representative of Bangka Belitung, Abi and Chikar have to act accordingly. “You represent Bangka Belitung, therefore you should maintain your manners and attitudes. It is because your misbehaviour will deteriorate your place of origin’s name,” remarked Herwanita.
The same message was also conveyed by the Chair of Bangka Belitung Post Paskibraka, Ferdian. “Keep your manners and make Bangka Belitung proud of you. Don’t forget to stay healthy,” said Ferdian. (KTE/ZE)
