Belitung – Belitung Regent Sahani Saleh, Head of Bangka Belitung Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office Wydia Kemala Sari, and Head of Foreign Partnerships from Youth and Sports Ministry Abdul Muchlis welcomed PPIA delegates with a gala dinner, on December 8 at function room, Belitung Regent Office.
Australia delegate, Mateja Vasic extended his appreciation for the warm welcome during the dinner. He also hoped this program would strengthen the bilateral relationship between Australia and Indonesia.
“Ten years from now, when we look back on what we did today, we can tell that bilateral relationships become stronger,” said Mateja Vasic.
Indonesia delegate from South Kalimantan, Saidah Ulfah also conveyed her gratitude for the warm welcome.
“We did not expect to have such a warm welcome,” said Saidah.
She added that through this program, participants would learn many things like culture, way of life, and how to strengthen bilateral relationships.
On the same occasion, Belitung Regent Sahani Saleh hoped Australian delegates could visit Open Pit Nam Salu, a geo site attraction during their stay in Belitung.
Open Pit Nam Salu is an ex-mining area which had turned into a tourist attraction. As the biggest tin mining site in Southeast Asia, this tourist attraction has many things to offer. (KTE/ZE)
