Sungailiat –The colonial-style building which was formerly an official house of resident assistant for Belinyu area had functioned as head district residence.
The building is relatively in good condition. The main building has not undergone any renovation at all. Regular maintenance is done to preserve the building, such as painting and cleaning. Meanwhile, the supporting building had undergone a total restoration and is functioned as a garage.
According to the Decree of the Head of Culture and Tourism Office of Bangka Belitung Province number 430/92/DISBUDPAR on May 2019, the residence has the potential to be a provincial cultural building.
Sub-coordinator of history and tradition of Bangka tourism and cultural office, Subardiantini said that the over 100 years old building remains the same. However, numerous repairs had been conducted on some parts of the building.
“The building had not undergone a total restoration. However, the roof and other parts had been repaired,” she said. (RZ/ZE)
