Belitung – Arriving at H.A.S Hanandjoeddin, Tanjung Pandan on Friday (08/12/2023), 42 delegates of Indonesia Australia Youth Exchange Program (IAYE) 2023 and the team from the Youth and Sports Ministry Republic of Indonesia were welcomed by officials of Bangka Belitung Province and Belitung Regency.
The IAYE 2023 delegates were also greeted by a traditional welcoming dance. They enjoyed the dance and the music. One of the Australias delegates even sang the famous song about the land, Laskar Pelangi.
During their stay in Belitung, the delegates will live with their foster parents. The program will last on January 5th, 2024.
The delegates will participate in several activities in the three-week program such as project making and art performing. At the end of the program, they will have the opportunity to present their project, including extending their impression and lessons learned. Not to forget, they will also showcase arts performance.
Head of Youth and Scouting Division of Bangka Belitung Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office, Pairus said that this program would strengthen the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Australia.
“I hope this program will strengthen bilateral relationship between two countries, and also build friendship and brotherhood among young people,” said Pairus. (KTE/ZE)
