PANGKALAN BARU – The acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu and his wife Maya Suganda Pasaribu had impressive time on Bebek Emas hill located in Tanjung Gunung village, Pangkalan Baru district, Bangka Tengah, on Saturday (24/6/23).
The manager of Bebek Emas, Salim, said that it has been operated since 2019 on a hill facing a beach. Its beauty panorama amazed Suganda and his wife.
“It’s very amazing. I can say that Babel has various beautiful attractions including Bebek Emas. It’s a God’s gift,” he said.
The acting governor invited tourists to visit the hill and enjoy its beautiful panorama. He expected an increasing number of visitors to Babel including to Bebek Emas.
The name Bebek Mas, golden duck, has a historical meaning.
“It was told that when Dutch ships anchored in the 19th century, the crews climbed onto the hill to dig for something. They found a duck in the hole. The locals called it a magical duck because its colour was yellow like gold,” said Salim.
Many people, either local or international, have visited it since it was operated.
“Many tourists have come. Some white and some from China, including local officers and surrounding people,” he continued. (Hasan/SAS/ZE)
