PANGKALPINANG – The Land of Serumpun Sebalai will always have creative people to increase the public’s income, including Bangkayu. It is a creative economy community crafting wood waste to make daily used products.
It will exhibit its products at an international event. 30 countries will participate in the Trade Expo Indonesia in ICE BSD Tangerang in October.
The chairman of the community, Faizal Amir, and his other young friends had an audience with the acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu, in his official residence on Wednesday (27/09/2023).
Faizal informed the acting governor about the progress of his community from year to year. He asked for support from the governor and consulted about facilities and marketing strategies during the exhibition.
“It begins in 2017. We did everything on our own. In 2019 we started to have support from related offices and state-owned enterprises. We come here to have a recommendation on the exhibition to represent the province,” said Faizal.
Suganda supported it. He gave many suggestions and asked them to market the typical product of the province.
“Of course, we’ll support it. Please contact related offices for further actions. It’ll be better if it can be collaborated with other products such as Satam stone. For example, you can make a box for Satam stone ring product. It’ll be an interesting product to be marketed,” said Suganda.
Faizal listened to the suggestion carefully. He considered it as a good support for the exhibition.
Bangkayu is one of the communities chosen to represent the province in the exhibition. They are expected to introduce various products and handicrafts of the Land of Serumpun Sebalai. (Kris/SAS/ZE)
