Pangkalpinang – To commemorate the 22th anniversary of Bangka Belitung Province, the provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports office (Disparbudkepora) will hold Babel Sport Games again. This year’s theme is “Raising Winners Together”.
Disparbudkepora Babel successfully held the games last year. In spite of Covid-19 pandemic, people were enthusiast to take part in the tournament.
The games aim to build character, to strengthen nationalism, to increase people productivity, and to promote sports.
Sports Head Division of Disparbudkepora Harun said that the games aim was to improve people’s physical fitness and also to gain more people’s participation in sports.
“The aims are to commemorate Babel Province anniversary, and in the same time to spot potential athletes to be intensively trained,” he said.
Babel Sport Game 2022 will take place on November. There are four games to be competed, namely football for under 16 years old, volley ball, tennis, and futsal.
The venue for each sport are Depati Amir Stadion, Pangkalpinang and Babel Sport Centre, Pangkalpinang for Football, Central Bangka regency Sport Centre for Volley Ball, and Tennis Court at Merdeka Square, Pangkalpinang. Meanwhile, Tanjungpandan Sport Centre, Belitung regency will become a venue for Futsal. (RZ/ZE)
