Pangkalpinang – The tourism marketing training for civil apparatus (ASN) has over on Wednesday (12/10/2022). Organized by provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports office of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, the three days training was held in Fox Haris Hotel, Pangkalpinang.

The training was officially closed by the head of Economy Creative division Zaiyuni, by handing over the certificates to representative of trainees.

Zaiyuni asked the trainees to understand the concept of tourism products and marketing in developing the destinations.

She further expected that all trainees could implement the concept of competitive marketing in tourism destination.

“Practice the skill you get in the training to market the destination in your respective area,” said Zaiyuni.

The trainer Ananta Budidhanudara said that the trend in marketing tourism now was digital marketing instead of conventional one.

Digital is relatively new concept especially for the trainees. “It only needs smartphone and internet connection for digital marketing. During the training, participants were asked to change their mind set. Smartphone has many functions not only for Whatsapp and watching video,” he said.

Participants can take picture or video, and subsequently to edit and upload the picture or video in social media for digital marketing.

“As trainers we hope all trainees to optimize their smartphones. The main purpose is to upload and promote in Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Whatsapp, and others,” said Ananta.

The uploaded content can be culinary and destinations just like what had been practised in the training. “We can imagine how many tourists will come after watching the content,” he said.

“We hope they can upload short video on their tourism potential every week. They don’t need to depend on marketing division because each of them can be agent of marketing,” suggested Ananta. (rel/munawar/ translated by. S. Ahmad sobri/ Edited by ZE)
