PANGKALPINANG – The acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) enthusiastically respond the chosen of Pangkalpinang as host of pre-National Sports Week (PON) 2023 for Badminton.
In an audience with chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) of Babel Johan Daniel, secretary of PBSI of Babel Ari Irawan, chairman of the National Sports Council (KONI) of Babel Ricky Kurniawan, Suganda expected that the event could be successful.
“Provincial government will support it so that it will give a good impression on athletes from Jakarta, Lampung, Sumatera Selatan and Bengkulu,” he said in his official residence on Saturday (5/8).
Johan Daniel predicted that the event was participated by 100 persons from the four provinces consisted of athletes, coaches, and officials.
The event would be held in Wijaya sports hall which had met the acquirements of Badminton event.
Daniel also reported preparation of Babel’s athletes for the event, Provincial Sports Week and Regional Sports Week. He also expected that the provincial government would play its role in athletes development.
“We hope it can be successful. We believe it will have positive effect on economic growth in Pangkalpinang,” he said (Irnawati/SAS/ZE)
