Sijuk – The acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) province Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu visited Peramun hill on Wednesday, 26/4/2023.
Peramun Hill located in Belitung regency is an exotic and modern hill because it combines nature and digital concepts.
Suganda suggested the management keep developing the attraction. “The combination concept is very expensive. Therefore, we need to have copyright right away before it is imitated and claimed by other regions,” he said.
Even though he only visited Batu Kembar, the acting governor was impressed with the forest with 147 kinds of trees.
“Keep the forest green. You’re great. You’ve made a contribution to the forest, so our people, our children can be encouraged to love the forest,” said Suganda praising the head of Community Forest (HKm) management of Bukit Peramun Adong and his members from Aik Selumar village.
“If we don’t preserve it, the forest will soon turn into a bare land due to economic interests. This kind of community must be supported by the government and all parties,” added Suganda.
Adong explained several things to the acting governor. The first was that his community needed much money to implement digital concept to manage the forest. On the contrary, it’s hard for the government to make contribution because it was in non-physical support.
“The idea is just an idea without any chance to be executed. The coming of the acting governor is a new hope for us,” he said after Suganda said that he would try to support the community through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Adong explained further that his community had an experience to join a start-up competition and they had better idea than the idea offered by the winner of the competition from India and Malaysia.
“Unfortunately, it’s just an idea because it needs a lot of money starting from research and execution,” he said.
He also said that regional government and other sectors had built quite satisfying infrastructure. It just needed to be well-functioned by the community. However, he expressed that the problem was the number of visitors because Belitung is considered a small island.
“The problem is in the promotion. So, in this technology era, it should be a chance,” he said.
Meanwhile, the provincial government can actually support through endowment fund, but tourism attraction community is not mentioned as one of the parts which can accept the fund in governor regulation.
The acting governor said that he would review it to find a solution so that the community just like HKm Bukit Peramun could get an endowment fund. (Nona DP/SAS/ZE)
