PANGKALPINANG – The acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu participated in Bank Indonesia’s (BI) Beach Cleaning on Pasir Padi Beach Pangkalpinang at Saturday (19/08/2023).
Beach Cleaning is a series of national Quick Response Indonesia Standard (QRIS) week 2023. It is to increase public quality life especially Pangkalpinang related to hygiene.
The head of BI of Babel Faturrahman, Pasir Padi was chosen because it was the closest beach to Pangkalpinang.
“We need to clean the beach. It’s not only close to the city, but it’s also the favourite beach of the people,” he said.
He continued that QRIS could be used in paying the entrance fee.It will be launched on the next agenda of QRIS week.
Also attending the event were the chief of regional police Insp. Gen. Yan Sultra, the chief of provincial attorney general’s office Asep Maryono, deputy chief of State Intelligence Agency of Babel, assistant governor for administration, public welfare bureau of Pangkalpinang Ahmad Subekti, and public welfare bureau of Babel. Besides that, a community of students receiving scholarships from Bank Indonesia (Genbi) also participated in the program.
Suganda, along with members of Regional Leaders Communication Forum and all participants were enthusiastic to clean non organic garbage along the beach. They collected about 122 kg garbage. (Elvianti/ SAS/ZE)
