Sungailiat – The acting governor of Bangka Belitung (Babel) Ridwan Djamaluddin officially kicked off U14 Student Football League (SFL) in OROM stadium, Sungailiat, on Monday (07/11/2022).

Six teams from regencies and city in Babel will compete in the 4 days league starting from 7 – 10 November 2022.

Ridwan expected that the league could foster good talents.

“Don’t underestimate them. It seems that they’re just common countryside kids. They’re very talented. Don’t forget, we ever won the top 8 of Suratin cup,” he said after the ceremony.

This league is also to entertain the people and to make them enjoy the exercise.

“Football has become an industry in this world. We expect in the future that our children have an alternative in their career to be a professional football player,” he added.

He said further that this league was to spot talented athletes to be extensively trained.

The head of the Sports division of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports office Harun in his report said that this league was to implement Presidential Instruction number 3/2019 on national football acceleration development.

“One of the grounds of this league is Presidential Instruction number 3/2019 on football acceleration development. It aims to measure athlete development by regencies and city, to foster a competitive mentality of young players, and to spot talented athletes to be trained in Sports Talent School,” said Harun.

The acting governor hit the gong and kicked off to officially open the league. He was accompanied by the regent of Bangka Mulkan, Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yan Sultra, and other members of the Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkompida).
