Tanjungpandan – The acting governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) Ridwan Djamaluddin had a heated discussion in a coordinating meeting in Sheraton Hotel, Tanjungpandan, Belitung on Tuesday (24/1/2023).
Besides Ridwan, the regent of Belitung Shani Saleh, and some heads of provincial and regional offices, the meeting was also attended by some ministries and state-owned enterprises officers.
Among the topics of the meeting was to increase contribution of tourism sector toward national income by accelerating the development of Tanjung Kelayang which had been inaugurated as National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN). The upgrading status of Hanandjoeddin airport as international entry point and other facilities including regulation were needed to support the area.
Ridwan believed that the decision of the meeting could increase economic growth and brought good effect to the people. “It’s a positive spirit. We believe to take a decision based on the fact,” he explained.
He said further to keep the international status of the airport. It needed a specific study on the effect of it to the people and air business.
“Optimize what we have, to increase national and regional economy,” he said.
The regent of Belitung Sahani Saleh supported the meeting and expected to attract investment to his regency.
“The concept of Belitung tourism development is based on the regulation,” he explained. (Irna/SAS/ZE)
