Balun Ijuk – National inter-work unit camp 2022 is officially started in Depati Amir camping ground, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung province, on 2nd – 9th October 2022.

In front of 1,200 scouts from 31 provinces, the acting governor, Ridwan Djamaluddin said that the slogan for the camp was PACAK. It is an abbreviation of Pramuka Aktif, Cendikia, Akrab, and Kreatif (active, intelligent, friendly, and creative scout).

He warmly welcomed all scouts and expected them to be able to strengthen unity and increase the scout’s role in all aspects.

“We happily and proudly welcome all of you on this camping ground. Hopefully, it’ll not only strengthen unity and increase scout’s role, but it can also give a deep impression to our province through PACAK slogan,” he said on Sunday (2/10/2022).

The chairman of the regional scout headquarters of Babel, Melati said that the slogan was a local word to refer to a statement of ability that one can do something and the responsibility to do it.

“It’s not only a statement of ability and responsibility, but it’s also a final aim of scout development in preparing its members as future leaders,” said Melati.

Ridwan Djamaluddin who is also a scout regional counselor said that Indonesia needed strong character in young generations to survive in globalization. Scouting was one movement focused on character development which was important to prepare future generations.

“I hope the young generation motivated by the scout movement can be the main support of national development in the future,” he expected.

The ceremony was also attended by secretary of the Youth and Sports ministry Jonni Mardizal, chairman of national scout headquarters (Kwarnas) Budi Waseso, secretary general of Kwarnas Bachtiar, and vice chairman of Kwarnas work unit Yuniar Ludfi (Khalimo/ Translated by S. Ahmad Sobri/ Edited by ZE)
