Sungailiat – The provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office (Disparbudkepora) of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung is holding a basic spa training and certification for tourism actors of tourist villages starting from 3rd to 5th July 2025 in Novilla Boutique Resort, Sungailiat.
The head of Disparbudkepora Widya Kemala Sari said in her remarks that it was a commitment of the province to strengthen the competitiveness of village-based attractions.
“Spa and wellness are important elements in the sustainable tourism concept. They not only increase the length of stay, but they also have economic value for the locals,” she said.
There are 20 trainees from various tourist villages in four regencies and one municipality. They are trained to master the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) in Spa service. They are expected to be able to give safe, hygienic, and professional services to support tourism.
The trainees are enthusiastically participating in the programme. The trainers are experienced trainers and assessors from Professional Certification Agency of Tourism and SPA of Indonesia (LSP PARSI). It is also supported by the heads of the tourism offices of all-Babel. The organizing committee of this training is from various elements.
“Use it as the first step to create a qualified service to compete with other national destinations,” Said Widya, motivating the trainee at the end of her remarks.
It is expected to be a strategic step to increase human resource competency of the locals and to make Babel a local wisdom-based destination.
The opening ceremony was participated by the head of provincial Disparbudkepora, the head of Creative Economy Divison, the sub-coordinator of Creative Economy, Tourism and Culture office of Bangka regency, Tourism, Youth and Sports office of Bangka Selatan, Disparbudkepora of Bangka Tengah, Tourism Office of Pangkalpinang, and certification team of LSP PARSI.
