TANJUNGPANDAN—The provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office of Babel through the regional technical implementing unit (UPTD) of Tourism Development Centre for Belitung region held a final seminar on Keciput Tourism Village mentoring program. It was opened by the office’s head, Wydia Kemala Sari, in La Lucia Hotel, Tanjung Pandan, recently.

In the seminar, the mentoring report was presented by the Team Coordinator, followed by a presentation by the head of the tourism awareness group (pokdarwis) of Gerude Belitong Care, Yuhenzi, as well as a simulation of the tourism packages resulting from the mentoring by all participants.

It was a part of the Tourism Destination Attractiveness Improvement Program 2025.

The assistance focused on strengthening the capacity of human resources of the Village through four governance frameworks, namely organization and institutional management, destination potential, tourism services, as well as promotion and partnerships.

The results included the preparation of institutional documents, service and organizational SOPs, mapping of tourism potential, and plans for promoting the tourism village and its products.

The seminar was attended by various stakeholders such as the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the Tourism Office, the Transportation Office, the SME Office, the Trade and Labour Office, the Protected Forest Management Unit (KPHL) of Belantu Mendanau, tourism industry players, state-owned enterprises, and banking institutions. Their presence was expected to open up collaboration opportunities to support the development of the village.

The Head of the UPTD, Apri, stated that a new tourism product has been created that highlights the region's natural potential and local wisdom, with a high level of character and uniqueness.

"In addition, this assistance has resulted in a document that can serve as a reference for managing tourism villages, both in Keciput Village and other regions in the province, while also encouraging the involvement of industry and CSR in supporting the Gerude Belitong Care," said Apri. (Irwanto)
