Sungailiat – The acting regent of Bangka, Jantani Ali, supported the community-based youth social entrepreneurship training on 24th – 25th June 2025 in the Graha Maras meeting room in the regent’s office. It was a programme to develop youth competitiveness in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung province.

It aimed to train youth in processing waste and creating businesses.

“Waste management is not also about cleanliness but it has become a promising sustaining business chance,” said Jantani.

Sociopreneur concept offers a new approach. It is not only about making money but also to contribute in solving environmental and social problems in society.

In his remarks, Jantani emphasized the importance of youth’s role as creative, innovative, and environmental care agents of change.

“We have commitment to support youth empowerment as agents of change who are not only creative and innovative, but also care for the environment,” he said.

The trainees were expected to understand and be motivated to build the waste-based business.

“Make it to be a momentum to step further, create innovation, and build a strong network,” added Jantani.

The training is also expected to encourage youth to increase community’s standard of living.

The acting regent expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee and those who participated in this training.

“We hope it can become the first step for youth to create positive change for the community and environment,” he said. (Khalimo/SAS)
