Pangkalpinang – Bangka Belitung Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office held a selection phase for Provincial Youth Exchange Program (PYEP) which was initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affair. One male and female participant will be selected as a representative from Bangka Belitung.
This program aims to give an experience of living in different areas and interacting with local people. Therefore, they can get a valuable life lesson and can contribute for development in their own area.
This year, PYEP will be conducted in Lumajang- East Java, and Manokwari- West Papua for a month. For Babel, the male representative- Dimas Pratama, a college student of STIE IBEK will go to Papua, while the female representative – Anjela Resti, who studies in Bangka Belitung University will stay in East Java.
Before embarking to their designated place, Dimas Pratama and Anjela Resti visited Bangka Belitung Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office. They met the acting head of Bangka Belitung Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office, Herwanita, and the head of Youths Division, Pairus.
On that occasion, Herwanita asked them to take care of themselves during the program. “Take care of yourselves, rely completely on our Malay value, and make Babel proud by showing your achievement,” said Herwanita.
Besides that, Herwanita reminded them to have a good relationship with people there, especially their foster parents. She asked them to show good attitudes.
Then, Herwanita asked them to promote tourist destination in Bangka Belitung.” When you are there, keep on promoting Babel tourism. So, Babel will be widely known and many people will come,” she said. (KTE/ZE/SAS)
