PANGKALPINANG – The Governor of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel), Hidayat Arsani, officially opened the Provincial Sports Meeting (Musprov) of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Babel for 2026 in the Pasir Padi Room of his office on Saturday (7/3/2026).
It was attended by the Chairperson of the Regional House of Representatives, Didit Srigusjaya, the Acting Provincial Secretary, Fery Afriyanto, the Head of the Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office, the Head of the Organization Division of Central KONI Eko Budi, as well as the Chairs of KONI from all regencies and city in Babel.
In his speech, Governor Hidayat Arsani expressed his appreciation for holding the meeting. He considered it to be a strategic means for evaluation, consolidation, and the formulation of future working programs.
"Sports are not only about competition, but also play an important role in character building and can be a source of regional pride. Therefore, I encourage KONI to continue improving athlete development in a tiered, measurable, and sustainable way," he emphasized.
Hidayat also emphasized the importance of professional, transparent, and accountable organizational governance to improve achievements.
He added that his administration is committed to continuously supporting sports development, as long as it is carried out in accordance with laws and regulations.
"However, the support needs hard work, synergy, and a spirit of togetherness. Let's use this moment to unite our steps and strengthen our commitment so that the achievements become increasingly and competitively at both national and international levels," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of KONI Babel, Ricky Kurniawan, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening athlete development as well as improving the quality of sports organizations in the region.
"KONI Babel is committed to continuously enhancing development and strengthening synergy with the local government and all sports branches for pride achievements," said Ricky.
