PANGKALPINANG – Result-oriented government requires synergy between provincial and regional government to indicate accountability rate or responsibility toward policy implementation.
It was said by the acting provincial secretary of Bangka Belitung (Babel) Fery Aprianto on behalf of the acting governor Safrizal ZA in the opening remarks of coordinating meeting on regional development, potency mapping and tourism strategic area of all Babel 2024 in PIA Hotel, Pangkalpinang on Wednesday (15/5/2024). The meeting was organized by the Directorate General of Regional Administration Development of the Home Ministry.
“We must thank God and be proud that Babel is designed to have a strategic role in future national tourism development. It’s expected that there is a harmonic collaboration between provincial and regional government in developing the tourism,” he said.
He said further that it was the message of Law no. 26/2007. It defines the National Strategic Area as an area in which there is an activity having big effects on surrounding spatial and public welfare.
“President Joko Widodo has a full commitment to support national strategic areas in regions by enacting the Presidential Decree no.17/2024 on the main plan for national tourist destination in Bangka Belitung 2023-2024 to accelerate national tourist development,” he added.
Therefore, Babel needs to be serious in planning and proposing the areas that can be included in the national tourist strategic areas. Those areas will be supported by the national budget with a total of Rp499 trillion for all of Indonesia.
“This meeting can be an important moment in building a strong synergy, commitment and cooperation between provincial and regional government to achieve regional development targets based on each main task and function,” he said.
“It’s also a form of responsibility to the public on effectively spending the budget development in the province,” he added.
The meeting scheduled on 15th – 17th May 2024 was attended by Meilinia Rosida on behalf of the director of the Urban Areas and State Borders of the Home Ministry, deputy for Strategic Policies of the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Indra Ni Tua, and vice rector of Bangka Belitung University for Academic and Student Affairs.
