Pangkalpinang – Provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports office (disparbudkepora) and National Sports Teachers Association (IGORNAS) will hold a provincial Education Sports Festival 2022.
Silat and Athletics will be competed on 25th – 27th November, 2022 participated by students from all levels either public or Islamic school starting from elementary, junior, and senior high school.
The games will take place at Depati Amir Sports Hall pangkalpinang for Athletics and at Sahabuddin sports centre for Silat
Sport division of Disparbudkepora, Harun, said that the government focused on sports. It was based on Law no. 11/2022 on sports and Presidential Regulation no. 86/2021 on the National Sports Grand Design (DBON).
“Sports need to be developed in formal education starting from kindergarten to university. It’s also necessary to foster public sports habits and to increase national sports achievement. Therefore, the competed sports must be adjusted to DBON,” said Harun on Thursday (24/11/2022).
He said further that it was to spot talented new athletes to make name for Babel in the future. It was also to increase health and exercise understanding to foster public healthy life.
“Besides fostering public healthy life, it’s also expected to have good national or international achievements,” he added.
The athletes will compete for 18 gold, 18 silver, and 18 bronze medals in the festival. The committee also provided certificates for the winners of each game. (rz/ translated by S. Ahmad Sobri/ edited by ZE)
