PANGKALPINANG – The COVID-19 pandemic became the starting point for innovation for creative economy actors in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province. One of them is Rasha, a local coffee brand that began as a free coffee delivery service.
Now, this brand, which was born during a time of limitations, is taking a more professional step by going through the process of registering a legal trademark in the Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) facilitated by the Provincial Government through the Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office (Disparbudkepora).
The Head of the Creative Economy Division of the office stated that the facilitation aims to encourage creative economy actors to move up a level, not only to excel in terms of products but also to be legally protected.
One of Rasha's founders, Nova, revealed that the coffee delivery service during the pandemic received a positive response from the public. As interest grew and the local coffee community developed, Rasha was committed to building a stronger and more sustainable brand.
The Head of the Office, Wydia, hopes that the registration of this trademark can increase Rasha's credibility while also opening up wider market opportunities, up to the national level.
She emphasized that the facilitation is part of the strategy to build a professional, competitive, and sustainable creative economy ecosystem in Babel. (Faris)
